May I introduce The
Sound and the Echoes, the
adventure of a twelve-year-old boy who is swept into a
magical, see-through realm —a
frozen, glistening reflection
of ours.
Imagine that everyone around you has a mirror image living somewhere else. Your
world is like a sound, which produced that other world of echoes. And in
this land men are governed by a terrible law—no Echo is allowed to live after
his Sound dies. To
ensure this, the ruling class practices legal murder daily. Worse
still, enemies are plotting to get rid of the Prince, and what easier way than
to kill his Sound? Will Cleary is about to discover that he is the Sound
they are hunting down.
And so begins an adventure into a see-through, sparkling world filled with eerie
crystal balls, old friends and new friends, decoy villains and real villains,
Echo technology that seems like magic, a hunt for clues in an ancient book, and
a passage through an icy lake into a secret land that holds the key to placing
the Prince on the throne and returning justice to the Echoes.
The
manuscript is 350 double-spaced pages and can be sold as a stand-alone, although
sequels are certainly possible, as in the Harry Potter and Charlie Bone series.
I am currently seeking literary representation.
